Welcome To Humanists Doing Good!
We are a nonprofit community of compassionate and rational people doing good for the sake of good. We are always looking for more people to join our cause and invite you to learn more about our organization and our beliefs. You just may be surprised to learn that great minds such as Albert Einstein have shared our vision.
Humanists Doing Good focuses on improving our lives by improving the lives of others.
May 21st, 2013 - UniversiTea: Stereotypes & Terrorism

Join Humanists Doing Good for an evening of philosophical discussion about the topics of terrorism and stereotypes. What is UniversiTea? UniversiTea is an opportunity to discuss challenging topics in detail and we try to let the discussion go wherever it chooses. We try to create a comfortable and relaxed environment while tackling philosophical topics that usually require time to fully explore. Food and drink will be available for purchase if you are interested.
When: May 21st from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Where: Wraps on Main (150 West Main Street)

May 11th, 2013 - Humanist Hike on the Trail Through Time

Our first Humanist Hike of the year will be along the Trail Through Time. You'll get to see 140 million years into the past as you look at remnants of the Jurassic age. There are numerous fossils along the trail and there is also an active excavation site. The trail is a 1.5 mile loop that is rated as a moderate hike due to a roughly 200 foot elevation change, but we've found the hike to be pretty easy. There is some rather uneven terrain, so please wear sturdy footwear. Children, guests and well behaved dogs are welcomed. You will need to bring your own snacks and water. We plan to take it easy and enjoy the sites along the way. There are few locations to obtain shade on this hike, so plan accordingly. If you would like to carpool with others, please let us know and we'll arrange a meeting point and time.
When: May 11th at 10:00 am (we'll depart promptly on the hike at 10 and there may not be cell phone service, so don't be late)
Where: Exit 2 (Rabbit Valley) off of I-70. If coming from the Grand Junction area, stay to the right until you reach the parking lot.
Call 970-623-2598 for more information or to arrange carpooling.
May 5th, 2013 - Mexican Cuisine & Culture

Join us at Canyon View Park for an afternoon of Mexican culture and cuisine. We'll learn about the Battle of Puebla that took place on May 5th, 1862 as we enjoy some food that everyone has prepared in advance. To make this work we need everyone who will be attending to select a dish off of the menu we have created to bring to the event. Prepare the dish in advance and then bring it to the park where we'll put together a casual meal in the park. You'll likely learn how to cook something new and delicious and we'll all get to enjoy everyone's creations.
We do not plan to reserve a shelter for this particular event, so please feel free to bring a blanket or yard chair. We'll be sure to have at least one table available to set the food on. We also are planning to have a pinata and children and guests are more than welcome to join us for this casual social outing. Canyon View has a dog park available so we are encouraging people to feel free to bring any well behaved dogs.

When: May 5 at 4:00 pm
Where: Canyon View Park (730 24 Road)
